The Diamond Rooms was founded in January 2008 by Matt O’Desky, a designer and diamond expert who entered the jewelry industry almost 25 years ago. Originally from the Chicago area, Matt brings Midwestern values of honesty, grit, and hospitality to every part of the business.
What started as a small referral-only operation has grown into two private, by-appointment-only showrooms in Austin and Dallas each built around one goal: serve people better than anyone else in the jewelry industry.
We don’t believe in high-pressure sales, showroom cases, or misleading markups. Instead, we build real relationships through transparency, deep knowledge, and exceptional custom design.

Matt O’Desky
Owner & Designer
Matt is the heartbeat of The Diamond Rooms. He began his journey in the jewelry industry almost 25 years ago and founded The Diamond Rooms in January 2008. With decades of experience in design, sales, and operations, Matt has built a reputation on transparency, loyalty, and exceptional taste. Whether sketching a new engagement ring concept or negotiating with vendors, he brings unmatched energy and creative precision to every client interaction.
Kaitlyn Reese
Custom Project Manager
Kaitlyn is the engine behind the custom process. From CAD approvals to casting updates, she manages every step of your ring’s journey with care and clarity. She’s the one you’ll talk to most after the design phase, and the reason your piece gets done right, on time, and beautifully. Kaitlyn and Matt have known each other for over a decade, first working together on community events through Austin Child Guidance Center. For years, he tried to recruit her, and after plenty of “no’s,” she finally said yes. Today, she brings unmatched organization and precision to every project. Her attention to detail isn’t just part of the job, it’s her superpower. If your piece turns out perfect (and it will), chances are Kaitlyn had everything to do with it.
Daniel Guzick
Sales & Client Experience
Daniel combines diamond knowledge with natural warmth. He’s your guide through the consultation and design experience, helping you understand all your options without overwhelming you. Whether you know what you want or have no idea where to start, Daniel’s got you covered. He and Matt go back to when they were 16, long before diamonds, CAD, or client meetings. Daniel’s roots in the Austin jewelry industry run deep: his great-grandfather and great-uncle founded Benold’s Jewelers on 6th Street, where his mom later worked alongside his grandfather. The two friends would stop by to visit after school, always joking that one day they’d work together. That day eventually came and now Daniel brings not just experience, but deep family pride and Austin heritage to every client he meets. For him, this isn’t just a job. It’s legacy.
Lori Bernero
Quality Control & Delivery
Lori handles the final (and most important) step: making sure your finished piece meets the standards we’re known for. She inspects every diamond, double-checks every prong, and ensures your pickup or delivery goes smoothly. Lori and Matt go back nearly 20 years, to when they were handpicked to launch a high-end jewelry store during the early days of The Domain. From day one, they developed a dynamic, complementary rhythm & a true tag-team approach to client care. Lori later managed one of Austin’s most well-known family-owned jewelry stores and has stepped in for Matt over the years when he needed someone he trusted completely. Now back as part of the core team, she brings calm confidence, deep knowledge, and a sharp eye that clients and coworkers alike rely on.
